The mission of the Health Resources Development Committee (HRDC) is to act in the collaborative manner to create change and to improve health services and community health resources in Jacmel, Haiti. For our purposes, the broad range of health resources are essentially all materials, manpower, facilities, programs, partnerships, medical supplies, and anything else that can be used for the provision of health care and services. Activities include networking and sharing resources with other organizations, community organizing, evaluation of existing health services and other resources, research, health planning and rapid response to community health crisis. Our organizing objectives are grounded in the tradition of co-operative work (KOMBIT) that creates change and improvement:
Assist with the deployment of HERO's relief efforts to Jacmel in terms of manpower and medical supplies.
Move from relief to construction by identifying unmet needs and gaps in services at the grassroots level.
Develop appropriate grassroots health resources that will contribute to the rebuilding of community health systems and the provision of on-going health services.
Development and implementation of new technologies to enhance health outcomes (i.e. telehealth).
